The theme of Expo 2010 is “Better City, Better Life,” representing the common wish of the whole humankind for a better living in future urban environments. This theme represents a central concern of the international community for future policy making, urban strategies and sustainable development. In 1800, 2% of the global population lived in cities. In 1950, the figure raised to 29%, in 2000, almost half the world population moved into cities, and by 2010, as estimated by the United Nations, the urban population will account for 55% of the total human population.

The quest for a better life has run through the urban history of mankind. Through different sub-themes, Expo 2010 will create blueprints for future cities and harmonious urban life styles, providing an extraordinary educational and entertaining platform for visitors of all nations:

Blending of diverse cultures in the city

Economic prosperity in the city

Innovations of science and technology in the city

Remodelling of communities in the city

Interactions between urban and rural areas

So you’ve got an online business and you’ve been told that to make the big money you need a list. A list of hungry and passionate buyers that ravage your offer when you send it out.

But you’ve probably found out that it’s not as simple as you first thought to create that list of buyers. First there is the squeeze page where you get people to opt in to your list. That page has to be finally tuned to ensure people are bribed and satisfied that you are not about to send them a whole lot of spam.

Then there is the double opt in part where you lose people because they don’t remember opting in to your list. And then the email messages in your autoresponder need to be mini sales letters mixed with great content to keep your list subscribed. Oh, and then you want to send the messages at the right time intervals so your subscribers don’t forget who you are, or worse, get upset because you are emailing them too often.

It’s a finally tuned science to get it right and sometimes requires a lot of testing and measuring to get right. It all takes time but is well worth it in the end.

Here are 3 absolutely essential rules to set you off on the right path:

Rule No.1 – Always wrap your lines at 65 characters or less

Remember most people get a lot of email every day. So eye fatigue becomes an issue. The last thing your readers want to be doing is reading the text from one side of the screen to the other. No matter how good your content is, if it is fatiguing to read, they will read a few lines and then hit the dreaded delete.

Short lines of 65 characters are much easier to read.

I bet you’re asking the question “So how do I measure 65 characters?”

Easy, just type 65 asterisks or dashes across the top and then measure your text returns against this. Outlook Express, NoteTab and other software programs allow you to set the line wrap to any character width you require. That means not having to hit enter when you think you need to.

Another issue to consider is that some email programs force line wrapping at 60 to 65 characters on emails received. So if you send an email wrapped at 100 characters your reader will receive an email that looks chopped up. This makes it look unprofessional.

Rule No. 2 – Never use ALL CAPS

Using all caps is bad email etiquette. All caps in an email is like a blaring ad on the TV or someone shouting at you. Nobody likes to be shouted at and if you are trying to sell at the same time, well let’s say that you won’t make any sales.

Too much hype, too many caps, too many exclamation points, underlining and bolding can give a desperate image. Consider what email messages you have read from start to finish. How were they formatted?

Some caps, underlining and bolding is required but DON’T overdo it!

Remember what makes you buy. Usually it’s from a source that you trust. An email all in caps would destroy this credibility very quickly.

One of the first steps to acquiring land either for personal use of for your own land business, is to learn as much as you can from
someone who has “been there!”

Right off the bat, I want to explain to you that I don’t recommend improving land with roads and streets. I recommend you work with land in
a “simplified manner” which means no paving of streets. I advocate that you keep it simple… and avoid the banks and the big loans!

My techniques can help you acquire land for your personal use and they can also help you acquire land with the thought in mind that you are going to start your own
land business. It doesn’t matter what your interest is, you can benefit from my Simplified Land Techniques.

And in my opinion, there is no better time to get into land than now. The housing market is slowing and you don’t want to get several houses on your hands that you are trying to rehab, and thing slow so that you can’t get them sold quickly. It would be much better to work with land in a manner that one land deal could produce more income than the income on 10 rehabs.

OK, so you have determined what areas of your community are growing and are in demand, and you start looking in those areas. In my opinion, you don’t want to acquire land in a area that is not growing as you will have to sit on it a long time. I don’t advocate having to sit and wait for something to happen. I recommend you get in and out very fast. Unless of course, you are just looking for land for your personal use and are not interested in producing income with land.

Now, how do you select an area to work in? How can you determine the areas that are growing? Well, you could talk with experienced real estate agents or real estate appraisers and you can drive around and see the areas that construction is going on. A very effective way to determine the growth areas is to talk with people who work at title companies as they close real estate transactions all day long and they know what areas are active.

Plus you can talk with people who work at the Tax Appraiser’s office as they certainly know what areas are the most active. So you determine what areas are the most active then move out slightly and start looking for acreage in those areas.

Hope this helps you to start formulating a plan for your land acquisition.

My materials cover a wide area of land and the many great benefits of working with land. The details are at http://www.landsecrets.com/home.htm.

Regards,

Photo to oil painting
The world of painting can be complex to the uneducated eye as there are numerous terms and practices taht can confuse you. To help understand you must learn what the various terminology stands for. This is crucial in defining the genre that your artwork falls into.
There are different genres in painting such as landscape, portrait and still life. Portraits are creating a painting of a life model, landscape is the painting of the environment and the last genre is still life which will be discussed in this article. http://www.photo2all.com

When creating still life paintings, the artist has full control of the subject. The artist would need to set the subject in a proper place where lighting is good, most likely north facing a window, having artificial lights or reflectors. When the artist has established this he can now be able to focus on his art.

First thing you’d need to ensure is that the painting is just how you want it. Try having a practice drawing first with sketches since painting it is completely different form looking at it. Then try to analyze the tonal values and make sure that the light patterns are just right. After the practice sketch and the tonal values, you will now have to deal with the color schemes.

After all those have been done, you will need to finalize. Finalizing includes making sure that the lighting and composition is correct. Many artists will not paint exactly what they see; they will in fact have some modifications to either make it better or to be able to express their personality in it.

The next step will be completely up top you; it all depends as to what style you will be using. You may want to handle the approach via the old master which is time consuming because it requires repeated layers of paints and glazes. But it allows great control and variety.

Here are some suggestions to make your still life painting more realistic, that even some people might think it’s the real deal.

1. Don’t light all objects equally; choose an object that will be the center of interests.
2. Decide on the concept, give the object some mass and paint some shadows.
3. Create a distinctive shape for every different object. Don’t make all your different fruits look all like apples. If the grape and lemons you plan on making seems to look like an apple I think you have a problem.
4. The object can either be across looking shallow or into the canvass.
5. Start your painting with the center of interest.
6. for objects to be lighted, the surface in which they are on must also be lighted
7. Try to add other colors by using the monochrome to make the object more realistic and prevent dullness.
8. Decide and understand how you will be able to bring what you want pout of your subject.
9. Establish the ground plane because it is also important.
10. The darkest part in the picture is the line of shadow in the objects.

If you are able to create a still life fruit painting that even your friends tried to eat it, you should be proud of yourself. If the painting you made on the other hand looked more like a cartoon, cheer up, maybe your just suppose to join the kinder art class first and develop your art skills gradually.

Call centers were once seen as an extremely cost-heavy and commitment-engaging endeavor for businesses. One company set out to change all that. Freedom TeleWork created a virtual call center with all the bellsand whistles of a traditional call center; including predictive and progressive dialing, chat, IVR, skills-based routing and click to call but they added a very key element to their solution, manpower. What makes FT so unique is having created the first international community of TeleWorkers. These are people who provide inbound and outbound support, technical and sales inquiries, which allows for a customer to take advantage of favorable labor rates. Companies like JetBlue, Virgin and Staples who recently paved the way using home-based workers for their call center needs, Freedom TeleWork has created the first online international community of these workers.Workers like American expatriates, stay at home moms, and handicapped individuals are now able to service companies sales and customer service needs from Manhattan to Mongolia.

Corporate customers are able to instantly create such a call center with drastically reduced contact center costs and increased customer satisfaction. The first of its kind to truly cater to the small and medium sized business.

FT has created the first truly simple virtual call center. This system is self-managed by corporate customers and home TeleWorkers using a web platform. The company makes it possible for any size business to use the Internet to access and utilize an economical telecommunication and technology platform permitting both inbound and outbound call center activity to be remotely managed from a simple, easy to administer, onscreen control panel and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.

Efficiencies will permit the company to become the lowest cost provider of high quality call center services affordable by virtually any company. Where the cost of call center set-up can range from $6,000 to $10,000, FTI will make equivalent call center services available for as little as $79 per month, without requiring a company to tie up capital in high infrastructure expense. A company may sign up for a monthly seat service with as little as one seat per month, no training, set up fees or contracts and with the ability to ramp-up or ramp-down depending on marketing or seasonal needs.

This sort of enabling technology is nothing less than a revolution for businesses, both small and large. It allows for the business worlds telephony needs to take a drastic price cut while bringing work to some unlikely candidates across the globe and right in your hometown.

Like many old school call centers, TeleWorkers are required to sit in brick and mortar facilities, in cubicles, in neon lighting and for perhaps a dozen hours at a time. The Wall Street Journal reported a few months ago, the average call center employee duration is 90 days. It is reportedly one of the most dissatisfying jobs, with a supervisor leaning over your shoulder and taking note of your bathroom breaks, with performance pressure and so much of the same.

VOIP technology has allowed for a tremendous shift in the call center industry, and for a correspondingly tremendous shift in the job of a call center employee. VOIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol – which means instead of the voice traveling over the phone line, it travels over the IP, Internet protocol. This means minimized long distance fees and greater bandwidth. It additionally means local phone numbers overseas and the ability for long distance remote workers to be, as if, local. It is what we see happening with so many advancing technologies, as Matthew McLuhan once spoke, “the future of human development will result in the world becoming a global village”. This is what VOIP has helped create for the world of telephony correspondence.

For the future of call center employees this means a whole new way of handling customer service and sales – from home. Companies like JetBlue, Staples, Virgin, just to name a few of the big players, have adopted this methodology. They have sent their workers home. This will allow for handicapped employees, stay at home mom’s and expatriates overseas to get jobs. Workers are thrilled to work in their pajamas, while doing the laundry and avoiding the commute. Employers are thrilled to save the overhead, insurance, brick and mortar facility, with flexibility for expansion.

But how are the workers supervised? This new technology comes with a new solution set of supervisory tools – every phone call may be MP3 archived, their phone call duration and frequency of calls is all recorded. Furthermore, whisper mode functionality gives the ability for a supervisor to chime in as a third party to just listen in, or to speak so that only the teleworker will hear “tell them about the orange sweater two for one deal”. This way, all remote workers will be on essentially closer watch – instead of monitoring their bathroom breaks, this allows for the supervisor to actually break into the calls themselves.

This VOIP revolution for Call Centers will bring work to less likely candidates with even sharper supervision, while providing reduced cost and risk, greater return on investment, and the ability for the green to keep flowing in..

Anytime you call 1-800 anything you are calling a call center. Your call might be directed to Salt Lake City, to the Philippines or to India, but it is likely going to a brick and mortar facility at a great expense to the company at hand. A call center is any sort of telephony operation handling sales, customer service, inbound or outbound needs of a company. When a company forms and realizes it needs these services fulfilled, up until recently it had very few options.

Forming one’s own brick and mortar call center is a labor and cost-intensive program. Here are a few of the steps involved; renting the facility, leasing the hardware, insuring that hardware, hiring the workers and supervisors, training them, the list goes on. The process might take up to 3 months to even begin the operation with massive expenditures at stake.

Companies like West Interactive realized this dilemma for businesses and created the first of call center solutions – the outsourced call center. Outsourced call centers gave new flexibility and ease of entrance because they took on the overhead, opened the facility, hired and trained workers. A company would call up and say, I need one representative answering calls from 9-5, handling sales and returns inquiries and transactions. West would say, we’re happy to service you, send over the proper script and all other information to familiarize our worker on your company and we’ll get them talking – for approximately $1.85 per minute.

The most recent call center solution dawned with the advent of VOIP – voice over Internet protocol technology. VOIP allows for remote locations of Teleworkers, which means the ability of a home-based worker operation. With reduced long distance pricing and the removal of such overhead like the brick and mortar, savings are quite tremendous. For only $99 per monthly seat plus 10-30 cents a minute for direct labor, the economics are incredibly compelling. Companies like Freedom TeleWork have created solutions just this revolutionary.

With an online solutions there is far greater ease and speed of sign up – choose calling preferences B2C (Predictive Dialing) or B2B (Progressive Dialing), choose Teleworkers (or bring your own), upload a script and in minutes a highly advanced call center operation is deployed with drastically reduced costs.

Clearly, the immediate savings and return on investment for a company are quite substantial. Virtual Call centers are revamping the accessibility and return on investment for companies’ customer relations across the globe.

It was once, many moons ago, back in the 90s, that the web was a place of simple content. Filled with stale information like directories and dictionaries, the world wide web was largely a home of facts and content. Over the last dozen or so years, the Web 2.0 Generation has changed all of that, bringing the Internet to be truly inter-operable and inter-active and certainly a lot more inter-esting. MySpace and YouTube gave new meaning to individuality, blogging gave everyone the ability to be their own author and publisher, and Google of course has allowed us to cruise through the Internet as if the whole web was created just for us.

Chatting is one of most compelling ways that the Internet has become interactive. When I had problems with my HP Printer recently, I logged onto their site in search of a 1-800 number, before I could hit the contact us button, I was taken by a chat live with tech support button. Business to consumer chat is about proactively engaging visitors on a website with Push Technology. Push technology operates whereby a Chat TeleWorker may actually take control of ones screen by pushing content or images.

Lets say you long onto Banana Republics website, you’re looking around andsuddenly a chat-worker takes over a small box on your screen hi, can I help you today? you say, sure I¹m looking for the new orange sweater¹ and just like that, the agent can push the orange sweater, price, details, size, right onto your screen. Whether answering a question which requires sending the site visitor a product photo, a brochure, a price list, or a page on a site. It is the equivalent of hands on selling, but over the web.

Chat conversations are always recorded and archived, so the Webmaster may always go back and review the interactions of the Chat TeleWorkers. Chat TeleWorkers can handle an unlimited number of Chats simultaneously, or mark busy if at full capacity. Chat can also be used by different departments within a company. For instance, one chat client can be used for Sales, another for Customer Service, and a third one for Technical Support.

Clearly this chatter revolution will encourage the interactivity of the web, with the ability to make every site crafted, just for you.
